Why one software per trade
A small workshop, a broker working alone, an airline flying a handful of aircraft: one day they all receive the same proposal. A large, "complete" platform that does everything. Why not want it?
Because it was designed for a different house. A large platform assumes an organisation where every function has its own department: an office for operations, one for quality, one for maintenance, one for purchasing, one for accounting. In your house, a single person holds three of those roles before noon. The software, for its part, forces her to walk through screens built for people she is not, to fill in boxes that concern no one, to hunt for the button a multinational uses once a year. After a few weeks, everyone knows what comes next: the real work goes back to Excel, the emergencies to WhatsApp, and the platform becomes a chore fed on Friday afternoons.
AeroManager took the opposite path: one software per trade, and each stands on its own. Airlines for the airline — operations, quality, aircraft follow-up, stock, accounting, sales, in a single workspace, because a small airline is all of these at once. MRO for the workshop, which lives with its work orders, its parts and its certificates. Broker for whoever finds, sells and ships parts. Manuals Builder for whoever writes the manuals and must keep them aligned with the regulations. They look alike, they speak the same language, but none of them imposes the screens of another trade on you. You walk into your own place.
This choice has a price, and it is better said out loud. One software per trade means fewer options per screen — so, now and then, a function that is missing on the day you need it. We do not guess it in advance: we add it with those who need it, when they need it, and it then serves everyone who does the same trade.
That is where the software stops being a product you buy. You do not grow by treating yourself to a big airline's tool; you grow by keeping your head free to fly, repair, sell — and by letting your software grow at the same pace as you. Whoever works with us does not use AeroManager: they build it a little, every time they tell us what they are missing. Their trade moves forward, and their software moves with it.
